Before receiving mainstream airplay with the successful singles “Ice Queen” and “Mother Earth” the symphonic metal band Within Temptation released their debut EP Enter. The EP is rooted within the gothic and doom metal, with harsh grunts from Robert Westerholt and Sharon den Adel’s beautiful voice. With the dark atmosphere and long instrumental parts they created an impressive EP. The tracks can be divided into two groups, the doom laden tracks and the lighter melodic songs. Guitarist Robert Westerholt provides growling on different songs, contrasting with Sharon’s high and stunning voice.The Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation was founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. After their first recordings in the doom metal they were developing their music to a more accessible symphonic style, becoming known to the worldwide public.

The 2000 album ‘Mother Earth’ was ‘Within Temptation’s second full-length album and it provided the band the nudge they needed to gain worldwide success, which they are still enjoying to his day. Within Temptation play a brand of female-fronted, keyboard-heavy power metal. There is a great balance of all the instrumentation on this album, including Den Adel’s voice, which has a dynamic range from ethereal highs to a more expressive mid-range. The tracks “Mother Earth”, “Ice Queen”, “Deceiver of Fools” and “Dark Wings” (feat. Arjen Lucassen) combine atmosphere with heaviness and melody perfectly. The Silent Force Tour was originally released as a double DVD in 2005, consisting of the full concert Within Temptation gave at Java-eiland, Amsterdam on July 22nd, 2005. This concert was part of the tour in support of their album The Silent Force. The Silent Force was the third studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation. The album peaked at number one in the Dutch Album Chart and reached the gold status in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Finland, only one week after release. Later, the album also achieved platinum status in Germany and double platinum in The Netherlands. The Silent Force Tour features the 2005 concert at Java-eiland, Amsterdam and is now available on vinyl and a 2CD for the first time as a limited edition. The vinyl package comes as a translucent blue coloured 2LP in an individually numbered gatefold sleeve and includes an 8-page booklet.
