The album features HANS ZIMMER on multiple instruments, a 40-piece orchestra, choir and a band of 20 amazing players including Tina Guo, Loire Cotler (co-author and singer on Dune), Lebo M. (co-author and singer on Lion King) and his daughter Refilwe Morake, Lisa Garrard, Pedro Eustache, Guthry Robert Govan (git). The album contains 16 new, unique “suites” / arrangements based on some of Hans’ greatest hits spread over up to 30 tracks and a total playing time of about 2h 15min! Unlike the highly successful “WORLD OF HANS ZIMMER” album, “LIVE” sounds much more like an epic rock opera with two guitarists, multiple percussionists, two drummers and extensive electronic / synthesizer elements. The album includes new arrangements of the most recent soundtracks like DUNE, JAMES BOND or DARK PHOENIX but also unique new arrangements of classics like LION KING, INTERSTELLAR or GLADIATOR and the fan-classic LAST SAMURAI.

Over a backdrop of cyber-infused soul production, it delivers a hypnotic and haunting performance.
Together, Zimmer and Wallfisch sought to continue the incredible musical legacy of the original 1982 Blade Runner by Vangelis, while imparting a piece of themselves upon the score. In order to do so, they implemented vintage synths such as “the star of the score” a Yamaha CS80 from the late seventies as well as modern technological innovations, yielding a rich sonic palette wholly cognizant of this world and the vision of director Denis Villeneuve.
