Reissue, High Quality, Gatefold Sleeve
The supremely swinging pianist Sonny Clark hit the Blue Note scene in 1957 with a burst of creativity recording three albums in three months including the sublime Sonny Clark Trio, a six-song set of bebop themes and standards featuring bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Philly Joe Jones. This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.

High Quality, Reissue
This new pressing of bassist Leroy Vinnegar’s first album as a leader Leroy Walks! is released as part of Acoustic Sounds celebration of Contemporary Records. Originally released in 1958 the album sees Victor Feldman, Gerald Wilson, Teddy Edwards, Carl Perkins, and Tony Bazley joining Vinnegar. The album was recorded in July and September 1957 and released in 1958. With six of the seven songs including the word “walk” in their title, including “Would You Like to Take a Walk,” “Walkin’ My Baby Back Home,” “I’ll Walk Alone,” and Vinnegar’s original “Walk On.” Vinnegar actually does not take much solo space and generously features his talented sidemen: vibraphonist Victor Feldman, trumpeter Gerald Wilson, tenor saxophonist Teddy Edwards, pianist Carl Perkins, and drummer Tony Bazley. Recorded by legendary engineer Roy DuNann this edition is pressed on 180-gram vinyl pressed at QRP with All-Analog mastering from the original tapes by Bernie Grundman and is presented in a tip-on jacket.
