‘Buena Vista Social Club’ is both the name given to this extraordinary group of musicians and the album, recorded in just seven days in 1996 in Havana’s 1950s vintage EGREM studios. It was clear from the atmosphere of the recording sessions that something very special was taking place. However, no one could have predicted that Buena Vista Social Club would become a worldwide phenomenon – awarded a Grammy in 1997 and, at 8 million copies, outselling any other record in the same genre. The acclaim of the original album has elevated the artists (including Ibrahim Ferrer, Ruben Gonzalez & Omara Portuondo) to superstar status, inspired an award-winning film by Wim Wenders, and has contributed to popularising Cuba’s rich musical heritage. Produced by Ry Cooder for World Circuit, the timeless quality of the music and the sheer verve of the veteran performers have ensured that this will go down as one of the landmark recordings of the 20th century. TSOLIMON – AKIDA (LP SILVER VINYL)
Tsolimon presents his first solo album titled “Akida”.
Recorded in just two weeks, in the village of Nerotryvia in Evia, “Akida” is the result of a unique collaboration with Pantelis Pilavios. The creation of the album took place in a house surrounded by olive trees and cats, “the house of summer boys.” “The songs on the album are music ideas and lyrics that had been circling in my mind from 2015 to 2022, but I couldn’t put them in order. With Pantelis, I found the determination and courage to organise them so that something complete could emerge” says Tsolimon.
With “Akida” Tsolimon undertakes a musical transformation: he leaves behind the traditional band format (guitar, bass, drums) and turns to more experimental, open forms, using computers and digital tools. The result is a fusion of sounds that combines a plethora of references and influences. Due to the extensive use of rap, some people characterise the album as hip-hop, but according to Tsolimon “it sounds like hip-hop to people who don’t listen to hip-hop and doesn’t sound like hip-hop to those who do.”
The album’s sonic diversity is in line with its lyrical contrasts. The internet and the carefree countryside. Excesses and nihilistic dead ends. Absolute patience and absolute haste. The cunning of innocence and the innocence of cunning. A bitter taste and a numb sensation. All together they converge into an unexpected coherence.
“Αkida” is out on LP and Digital album via Inner Ear.

Δίχως αμφιβολία οι 36 Ελληνικοί Χοροί του Νίκου Σκαλκώτα αποτελούν μια από τις κορυφαίες πνευματικές κατακτήσεις του νεοελληνικού πολιτισμού.
Ήταν κατά συνέπεια μία πολύ σημαντική στιγμή στην ιστορία της ΛΥΡΑ η πρώτη παγκόσμια δισκογραφική τους παρουσίαση το 1991.
Τότε, λίγο μετά την εμφάνιση του CD, η έκδοση περιορίστηκε στη συγκεκριμένη μορφή του δίσκου ακτίνας.
Σήμερα ύστερα από την τεχνολογική έκρηξη που έκτοτε επακολούθησε, η επανέκδοση των «36 Ελληνικών Χορών» σε δίσκους βινυλίου σημαίνει ίσως ότι η «παλιά» τεχνολογία μπορεί ακόμα να προσφέρει: τόσο στο επίπεδο της μακρόχρονης διατηρησιμότητας ενός πολιτιστικού αγαθού όσο και σ’ εκείνο της νοσταλγίας για κάτι το ξεχωριστά οικείο που «διώξαμε» απ’ τη ζωή μας πριν της ώρας του.
Η ηχογράφηση έγινε στο Στούντιο “500” της Τηλεόρασης του Σβερντλόφσκ της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης στο διάστημα μεταξύ 23-27 Ιουλίου και 1-2 Οκτωβρίου 1990
με την Κρατική Φιλαρμονική Ορχήστρα Των Ουραλίων υπό τη διεύθυνση του αρχιμουσικού Βύρων Φιδετζή.
Το έργο εκδίδεται για πρώτη φορά σε ΔΙΠΛΟ ΒΙΝΥΛΙΟ 180γρ
