Raw and ragged, prophetic and pure – the debut of a future legend.
Released in 1962, Bob Dylan introduced a 20-year-old troubadour with a gravelly voice, a head full of folk songs, and a spark of genius. Though mostly a collection of traditional material, the album also includes two Dylan originals -including the haunting “Song to Woody,” a tribute to his hero Woody Guthrie. Dylan’s delivery is full of urgency and authenticity, breathing new life into old songs like “Man of Constant Sorrow” and “In My Time of Dyin’.” This debut may not yet contain the poet-prophet he’d soon become, but the seeds are all here – clear, raw, and unmistakably his own.

BOB DYLAN – BLOOD ON THE TRACKS (LP VINYL)
Bob Dylan was at several crossroads in the mid-1970s. Artistically, he was largely written off as being past his prime. Emotionally, he was suffering through a painful divorce from his then-wife Sara Lowndes. Creatively, he appeared at a stalemate, his previous decade’s unprecedented run of transformational brilliance finished. Then came Blood on the Tracks.
