Since its launch in 2006, the Guitar Hero series has enjoyed ever-increasing success. With the fifth installment, announced for September 11th, a whole host of new features are coming your way. Get ready, it’s going to be epic!
First, some impressive numbers. Guitar Hero 5 features 85 songs, 76 of which are appearing in the series for the very first time. It also includes 30 new artists: Tom Petty, Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Elton John, Muse, Public Enemy, Kings of Leon, The White Stripes, Santana, Johnny Cash, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan are all included! Note that all the tracks are available from the start; there’s no need to unlock them as you play.
Another major new feature of this installment is the ability to play with any instrument configuration in multiplayer mode. This means you’re free to assemble a band of four guitarists, two drummers and two singers, three bassists and one singer, and so on. Every possible combination is now feasible.
New game, new game modes! A completely revamped career mode with objectives to achieve and missions to complete. Also available is the Party mode, which allows you to jump in and out of a song and even switch instruments mid-song without interrupting your current session or restarting the game. You can also enjoy a new dynamic difficulty mode that adapts to your skill level during gameplay. Finally, there’s RockFest Mode. Playable with up to 4 players offline or up to 8 online, this mode offers a whole host of unforgettable head-to-head matches. Jams, bonuses, online music sharing, and more await!
Of course, the Music Studio is back, remodeled for the occasion, and allows you to easily create your own tracks and upload them for your fans.
